Black Swan Green by David Mitchell was released recently. Black Swan Green is the first book to be written by David Mitchell since the tremendous and thoroughly deserved success of the Man Booker shortlisted Cloud Atlas (I am not alone in thinking it should have won). However, this books is a massive departure from the likes of Cloud Atlas and Ghostwritten, Black Swan Green is perhaps most similar to number9dream due to the age of the first person narrator and the fact that they are both often, somewhat awkwardly, classed as coming-of-age novels. However, David Mitchell has achieved yet another distinct, unique, brilliant piece of literature in the form of Black Swan Green.
