Black Swan Green is the most recent novel to have been
written by David Mitchell. It follows a 13 year old boy through a year
of his life in the quiet village of Black Swan Green. It is often labelled
as a coming-of-age novel but is so much more than that, tackling many
issues that are just as relevant today as they were in 1982, which is
when the novel is set. Black Swan Green is both humourous and profound,
something which is difficult to achieve but seems to come naturally
to David Mitchell.
